I was recently introduced to another clothing company (for women) that I honestly think reaches out to MORE than just the “outdoorsy” woman and I am honored to share.  Part of the Sportif parent company, the clothing of Aventura boasts being “eco-friendly” with organic and environmentally-friendly fabrics.  In fact, their motto is to “help the earth….one garment at a time.” I can handle that!

While I admit to spending 80-90% of my time in “active” clothing that lets me move (hike, play, run, get dirty) with my kids, sometimes it is SO nice to dress up a little.  However, even “dressed up” means still being comfortable to me and Aventura certainly delivers that with their casual lifestyle pieces.  This outfit is what I wore to help in J’s preschool class (AND just because we are celebrating one year on the blog!)

Mariah  Organic Cotton Jacket $99

Initial impression: Incredibly soft, just enough stretch to be comfortable when I move, easy to wear with just about anything.

Going Deeper:  The jacket is perfect for fall to add another layer, but is something that I will wear all winter long too.  The fabric cleans up easily, washes great (no ironing needed!) and makes me feel just a little more put together.

Ellery Long Sleeve Tee $59

Initial impression:  Very soft, great detailing, way too low-cut for my comfort.

Going Deeper: This shirt definitely grew on me.  I am pretty self-conscious about clothing that I need to tug at to keep in place and I was worried this would be one of them.  However, with wear, it settled into a nice position that I was comfortable with.  It is a great basic layering tee (especially for under something like that Mariah jacket) with a little extra twist (literally) that makes it more feminine.  Better yet, an extra layer of lining fabric around the chest/bust makes what would be a see-through color not require a tank top or additional layer underneath.

The Bottom Line

While certainly a bit on the spendy side, you are paying for fabrics you can feel good about (both because of their source AND how comfortable they are) and clothing that will last and last.  A company loved by women all over, Aventura sells out fast each season (which is another testament to how great it is!)
