Mtn Papa and I are lucky enough to BOTH be Ambassadors for Mountain Khakis. Their women’s line is new in the last year, so it is quite an honor! In case you don’t know, Mountain Khakis has a bunch of awesome Ambassadors representing the company. You can see all their stories (and ours) over at the MK Livin’ Blog (check it out!) The good news for you, as readers, is that you get to see the highlights of the entire line (both men AND women). We just received our newest threads, so this review is preliminary. The intention is just to highlight what is out there (and what we love!) We’ll check back in in the following months with updates, feedback and showing off a couple more pieces.
In case you are new to Mountain Khakis, a little about the company…
Mountain Khakis are built for the mountain life (and all that it entails.) “Inside us all exists an adventurous soul – a wild heart that is called from nature to live authentically and free from modern society. For many outdoor and mountain enthusiasts pure freedom and rugged adventure has become a way of life. Mountain Khakis were developed specifically for this lifestyle.”
The clothing is rugged (it really does withstand anything), timeless and quality. And, while we don’t currently live as close as we used to, Jackson, WY will always hold a special part of our hearts, AND it is the birthplace of Mountain Khakis.
Forgive our “model” clothing shots. HA! We are SO much more comfortable taking pictures out while doing something, but these will do for now as the “previews” to the fall line!
Fall Favorites for Men:
Like I have mentioned before, MKs has been around a lot longer for men than women. It is a more established line and suits the active, outdoorsy man looking for classic and timeless basics (along with some fashion too.)
M’s Lodge Zip Sweater (shown in photo) $134.95 NEW! : Merino wool (hence the price!) which means excellent warmth, washability and heat regulation. Will work great for ski trips and out to dinner. Very soft too!
M’s Flannel Lined Original Mountain Pant $94.95: Every guy (living in the appropriate climate, of course) needs a quality pair of flannel lined pants. These will be used all.the.time.
Fall Favorites for Women:
I am still laughing just a little about my fashion style and how OUT of the loop I can sometimes be. I’ll be honest – I love for my clothes to be functional, quality and look good, but I am not (ever) the one setting any style trends. And that is ok with me! A couple of weeks ago, I posted a photo of MKs new women’s plaid on our Facebook page wondering what people thought. I was skeptical, and I wanted to know if I was the only one. The plaid was met with buckets of positive comments (and how plaid was most definitely in…and had been for about two years now… ;)) I caved and added it to my wardrobe. I am so glad I did!
W’s Peaks Flannel Shirt $89.95 NEW!: (Shown in photo) Very soft and cozy and SUPER stretchy allowing for movement around the home and out in the woods. Despite my previous apprehensions, absolutely recommend! Available in
W’s Alpine Utility Pants $89.95: (Also shown in the photo) Quality pants that will uphold to a lot of abuse, I am sure. Mtn Papa has a pair of the men’s and they have been awesome. Great for fall tromping through the woods! These aren’t new this season, but GREAT for fall! My only other feedback: size up for a better fit in the waist – these pants run a little smaller in that area than my other MKs pants.
W’s Canyon Cord Skirt $69.95 NEW!: Another new favorite. It has 2% spandex so moves easily with you, hits about at the knees and is something I can wear all day long (and dress up or down as needed.)
