Iksplor Merino Wool Blankets

We are so excited about this brand new company based here in Jackson, WY who are making awesome merino wool products for outdoor kids. This summer we took their Adventure Blankets with us to Alaska and they were SOOOO much better than I had even hoped.

Not only are they super soft, have a great weight AND are packable, they also machine wash and dry very well. Around here we tend to wash them at least weekly with zero issues.

Other perks:

  • protection from UV rays
  • dries quickly
  • even when wet, still is cozy and comfortable (believe me, we tested this too…)

We also highly recommend their hats and neckwarmers available now AND their base layers coming soon (we got a sneak peek and they’re amazing!)!!

Check out why we LOVE them for babies and swaddling here too! <– Coupon code available here!

Growing Goats Adventure Accessories

Great accessories to encourage us all who are getting our kids (AKA “goats”) out there!

Watershed Big Creek Dry Bag

A superior dry bag available in many different styles.

Duffels also available at REI.

Camping is Good for the Soul

NoBox Tape Lights

NoBox Tape Lights (N.Bx)

I am so excited about this new brand and some really cool gear they have coming out this year. We especially love their tape lights – an 18 inch strip of rechargable LED lights for home OR the campsite.

My kids love them and we are purchasing some more so each kid can have one. They have a low and a high setting. They stay lit for 3.5 hours on high and 36 hours on low and recharge in 2 hours. They are also affordable at under $20.

Camp Chef Stryker Stove

A team favorite for camping and/or post-ski hot chocolate.

Also see our review of the Camp Chef Rainer Stove here!

Cnoc Outdoors Vecto and Hydroblu Gravity System

The patent-pending dual opening system allows for easy filling from a wide opening on one side and a narrow mouthpiece on the other. Use your the Vecto for drinking or as part of a water filtration system with particular Sawyer, HydroBlu and LifeStraw filters.

Stay Dray and Warm

PEET Dryers

If you don’t own a boot dryer, you need one. I always sort of though they were frivolous and really not necessary, but PEET has completely changed my mind.

Not only does it mean your gear (boots, mittens, gloves) get dryer faster, they are also less stinky (PEET also makes odor eliminators) and just mean you can get out easier and more!

We have at least two dryers going every day from October – April and so they have a permanent spot in our mud room. Pssstttt…they are on sale on Amazon right now (aff link).

If stuck in a downpour or an all day misty rain then having great rain gear for your kids makes ALLLL the difference.

Puddlegear is heavy duty, durable toddler rain gear. It was designed by a mom who loves taking her kids sailing, hiking, and puddle-jumping in one of the wettest parts of western Canada. It is also PVC and Phthalate free AND does not “off-gas”.

Downpours and rainy days do not have to stop you from having great adventures with your kids. According to Alex (Founder of Puddlegear) there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear.

Wee Woollies

Some of our very favorite soft, wool base layers for kids aged 0-10.

Cleary Scout

This fall we’ve been testing the Cleary Scout and have had so much fun with this 10-speed do-it-all bike. My ten year old rode both cross country, around town and downhill trails and found the bike to ride smoothly, handle well and respond to changing terrain.

With it’s 4130 Chromoly Steel frame, the Scout may not be the lightest bike out there (though it’s totally do-able), but it is the strongest and has an excellent price point for kids mountain bikes.

Available in both a 24″ and 26″ size.

Truly ANY size WOOM Bike is fantastic, but we love the 3 (16″ tires and perfect for kids 4-6) to get kids really getting some miles under their belt.

Woom bikes are extremely lightweight, geared towards little riders, and help kids be confident and proficient on two wheels.

Shred Dog NEW Boys & Girls Seamless 1/4-Zip Baselayer Top

SHRED DOG’s new boys’ and girls’ baselayer top provides the foundation for keeping your kids warm, dry and comfortable on the mountain. It is a nylon blend so it repels body oils/odors unlike polyester and features NILIT®Heat, a performance yarn that retains body heat so it is warm like merino wool but silky soft against the skin.

Get your exclusive TMM discount here!

The NILIT Heat yarns also make it anti-microbial with a powerful deodorizing effect and it wicks moisture for a sweat-free sensation.

End result? Maximum comfort and performance all day long whether skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, or just wearing it to school.

  • Seamless design means no chafing side seams
  • More comfortable than merino wool but retains body heat
  • Repels body oils/odors unlike polyester which absorbs them
  • Mesh neck gusset provides style element but also functional airflow
  • Thumb-holes add warmth to hands and prevent sleeves from riding up
