I know it’s not Friday, but sometimes life happens and Monday FEELS like Friday!
O.F.F. = Outdoor Fashion Friday.
Our (almost) weekly segment featuring our favorite styles for the season. Everything I share are pieces that can be worn all day long and stand up to the “use and abuse” of serious adventures. As a family, we appreciate clothing that is worth our hard-earned money. It’s what we wear and trust!
I love everything about sandals except the fact that they expose my toes and aren’t safe for biking and more aggressive trail time. If it were up to me, I would run around barefoot most of the time. My kids agree. Bottom line, we appreciate a shoe that let’s the air flow AND covers our toes.
Here’s a quick list of my recent favorites that feel good, look good AND are safe. They are also ALL shoes you could wear all day and go on long walks/hikes in.
KEEN Rose Sandals: I actually really love that these have an ankle strap on them. While I am not going to go out hiking or in the river with them, they let me bike in skirts. They’re also great in water, I can walk miles and miles in them AND they look good. Note: I saw other reviews that complained about the ankle strap fraying. I have not had that issue in the least and highly recommend them!
Chaco Outcross EVO Mary Jane: I love these shoes. Enough I may just break down and buy them in another color. They breathe really well, don’t stink (by some Chaco miracle), and are adjustable with the signature Chaco straps so they fit right no matter how much my feet swell in the heat or “shrink” in cold water. Finally a highly functional and adventure-ready Mary Jane.
Ahnu Tilden V: While these aren’t the cutest ones in the bunch here, they are really comfortable, have good support, can be adjusted for a perfect fit and great for hiking, and perfect for the river.
Chaco Outcross for Kids: So, so, so great. We have worn and loved another brand of water shoes for years and years. And while there is nothing wrong with those (and we still love them), these may be the most supportive, comfortable, easy-wearing, long-lasting water shoes out there for kids. If only they were available in a size smaller than a 10, I’d have P and L in them too. J has successfully worn and loved these while hiking, playing in the river, SUP boarding, and kayaking.
