For all you adventurers out there, if you are anything like me, you love that your kids get crazy dirty outside…but do not love the clean up that ultimately follows!
That’s one of the top reasons I love the Tuffo Muddy Buddy rain suit. This waterproof suit is the perfect fit for your little (or not so little) puddle jumpers!

Tuffo Muddy Buddy Rain Suit for Muddy and Wet Days
It’s been raining all day, your kids have been running around the house like cavemen, there’s been constant breakdowns, and no shortage of tears.
You look outside and see gray skies and a boat load of wet ground. Hoping for a few minutes of quiet, you SEND THE KIDS OUTSIDE.
It’s actually quite amazing, as soon as we send our kids outside after (or during) a rainy day, the first thing they do is run towards the puddles. And to be honest, I can’t blame them!
Tuffo Muddy Buddy Rain Suits are for the parents
As a parent of two kids who LOVE to play hard, there’s a part of my brain that always wants to keep them as far away from anything wet, and for one reason only, I’m straight up selfish.
Do Less Laundry with Tuffo Muddy Buddy Rain Suits
As a working mom, I crave my few hours at home with my kids. However, instead of snuggling with them before bed, I/m hunched over the sink washing mud and grime out of gear- only for the same thing to happen the next day.
It was on one of these very nights, scrubbing my second pair of boots, that I decided to take back my time. After hours of reading reviews online (and searching the Tales of a Mountain Mama Facebook page), I decided to listen to the advice of there’s “No such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing” and I purchased the Tuffo rain suit.
What the Tuffo Muddy Buddy rain suit is
The Tuffo rain suit is simple: it’s a thin, waterproof suit that can be worn alone or over a coat and snow pants. It comes with a hood and two front zippers for kids to pick from to help them with outfitting. The suit has elastic wrist and leg openings.
What we love
I put this suit to the test with my 4 year old son, and here’s what I loved.
First, it fits over snow gear for cold months, washes easily, and the dual zipper means it’s easy to slip on and off.
Second, the suit itself is inexpensive, durable, and because it’s lightweight, I can easily throw it in my backpack for rainy-day hikes.
One of the best parts of this suit, is that it’s quick-drying. I don’t have to throw snow pants in the dryer, I just wring this suit out and hang it to dry.
What we think could be improved
Zero insulation: Living in the mountains, where it’s cold 8 months out of the year (or so it seems) we live in layers. Sometimes layering snow pants under the suit feels a bit funny to the kids at first, but once they hit their first puddle- all concerns seem to disappear.
A little goofy: The suit is a bit over-sized in the arms, waist, and legs, which is great for flexible sizing, but admittedly looks a little silly. My son has decided to grow upward instead of outward, which means his lanky limbs seem a bit lost in the suit.
Why I would buy this again
At the end of the day, I’m all about making life simpler. The Tuffo Muddy Buddy Rain Suit has allowed me to be the fun mom who lets her kids jump in puddles while also saving my sanity and time at the end of the day.
If you have more than one puddle jumper, buy this suit a size larger, get a few more years of use and then pass it on!
