Amelia

Amelia lives with her husband and five young children outside of Jackson, WY in Grand Teton National Park. As a mom, she quickly learned that the secret to sanity was to spend more time outside where tantrums don't see quite so bad. Amelia started TMM in 2012 to help encourage all families (including her own) to get outside, no matter the weather. Due to the necessity of having to keep so many kids warm and happy, she has become an expert in kids' gear and loves being able to share it with others.

Winter Camping for Families

As I mentioned in my previous post about winter camping, we sort of hit it hard this winter. I am so glad we did – tons of memories were made and plans for future return trips dreamed up. However, I’ll be honest, despite the pain of packing and unpacking (and oh – what a pain … Read more

This post is sponsored by WeatherBug. It’s an app both Mtn Papa and I use regularly to make an educated guess as to what sorts of layers we all need for the day….and determining safety of conditions too! Which Weather App (if any) do you use?? I really want to know! Comment below so I … Read more

Stampede Bikes Charger 12″ Balance Bike Review

Stampede Bikes Charger 12" Balance Bike Review

The Stampede Charger 12″ (also available in a 16″ and 16″XL size) is one of our favorite balance bikes for young riders. It is beefy and tough, without being too heavy (our 25 pound 2.5 year old can easily handle it on her own). The geometry of the bike allows riders to have a low … Read more

Taking Pictures While Hiking Made Easier

Taking Pictures While Hiking Made Easier

One of the parts of hiking with kids that’s really tough is that I seem to be always hauling way more than I plan to….which makes it especially difficult if I want to be taking pictures of any kind (which I do!) Someone’s backpack they ditched early (though usually I am a big you-carry-your-gear-that-you-brought nazi), … Read more
