TOBE Outerwear for Kids Who Are Tough on Gear

Over the past few years we have used and loved TOBE‘s (pronounced Too-bee) gear for kids. The brand is focused primarily on providing high quality gear for adults AND kids that allow them to stay comfortable all day long in various conditions. I call this our “bomb-proof” AKA Kid-Proof gear.

It is reinforced in all the right places and truly built to last through numerous kids without showing much wear. As mentioned above, they do make a full line of adult gear, but we can only (so far) speak personally on the kid gear so that is what this review will focus on.

TOBE Outwear for Kids Who Are Tough on Gear

This winter my boys are wearing the TOBE Novus Jacket $199.95 and Novus Bibs ($199.95). Yes, I know that price is a bit of a shocker BUT spending $400 on kid gear that truly will perform for numerous kids AND numerous years is not unheard of. This is why it’s worth it:

Novus Jacket:

  • Perfect for layering under on colder days, this jacket works on its own very well in most winter conditions thanks to the fleece lining. We like that we CAN layer with it so the same jacket can be used from fall – spring.
  • 100% waterproof, 100% windproof, optimally breathable and extremely durable.
  • Super durable Cordura fabrics set it aside from many other kid jackets….this is the gear I let my kids play in in the snow AND rocks/sticks/sagebrush.
  • Adjustable cuffs allow some growth without baggy arms
  • Breathing vent at top of zipper so it can be zipped all the way up on the coldest days
  • Extra large hood for fitting over a helmet (which is also removable)
  • Reflective strips for safety
  • 4 zippered pockets

Novus Bibs:

  • Roomy for easy movement and layering under on super cold or long winter days
  • 100% waterproof, 100% windproof, optimally breathable and extremely durable.
  • Ultra durable with reinforced knees and bum
  • Reinforced with Kevlar in high wear areas like the knees and ankle cuffs
  • Bum area is fleece-lined
  • Adjustable shoulder straps
  • Bibs come up high to keep snow out
  • Reflective piping to help make sure kids are visibility when playing day or night

TOBE as a company puts a high priority on:

  • Performance: 45,000mm Sympatex Membrane offers the best waterproofing and windproofing a kid can get in all cold weather conditions – snow, sleet, rain, wind, bitter cold
  • Fit: As durable as this gear is on the outside, it’s just as comfortable on the inside. Let’s face it, no matter how great gear is, if it’s not comfortable, kids won’t want to wear it
  • Safety: Reflective piping to help make sure kids are visibility when playing day or night. It is also BPA Free and Blue Sign approved

Our Quick Thoughts:

Truly this gear is stand-out incredible. I know I can depend on it to last a very long time. The best part? My kids love how they can move and play in it.

TOBE did provide us this gear for review. That said, this review is exactly what I tell my family and friends.
